Welcome to the Dogwood Arts Festival. This year our festival is filled with great delights - wonderful performances, free events, and lots of fun - as well as workshops, master classes and informative demonstrations.
It is a special year for us, one in which we have focused on the Dogwood Arts Festival mission not only to bring nationally and internationally renowned artists into our midst, but to give back to the community through free events and community partnerships designed to showcase local artists.

Dogwood Arts Festival Thousands of visitors flock to Tennessee each year for the Dogwood Arts Festival, a historic festival celebrating the height of springtime. Born from reactions to adverse comments about Knoxville by a New York journalist in the 1950s, the local community decided to showcase the city's loveliest features. Started in 1961, the Dogwood Arts Festival runs for the 48th time in 2008.
The stated purpose is to "advance, promote, support, and foster the natural beauty of the City of Knoxville, Tennessee". The Dogwood Trails feature the natural beauty of Knoxville - dogwoods, azaleas and other flowering plants, which come into abundant bloom in spring. Meanwhile the Arts Festival, taking place in the historic city centre's Market Square, allows visitors to enjoy arts, crafts, food and entertainment by local artists.…...more!
